Kelly Brothers (except Brendan) Scale Half Dome!

We had a very weird weekend. Brendan's brother Brian flew down from Seattle and spent the night. On Friday we headed down to Yosemite. Brendan went down I-5 instead of 99. Luckily I got him on the right track before Tracy! We met up with brother Michael and his newest girlfriend in Yosemite on Fri afternoon part way up the trail to the top of Yosemite Falls. Then we all went back to Mariposa, where we were spending the night, and met up with brother Neil. Saturday THEY all got up early to hike up Half Dome. While they struggled up the trail and rock, Brendan and I slept in, drove around the park including up to Glacier Point and hiked along the Merced River stopping to watch climbers way up El Capitan along the way. Then we headed to Gilroy where we spent the night. Why? Because Michael and Neil wanted everyone to go through boxes of books and dishes at their mother's house in Capitola (Did you know she passed away peacefully 2 weeks ago). So we spent Sunday going through the "who wants this" ordeal of books that were their father's college text books! What fun was that??? I did get 3 really nice pottery serving bowls and ransacked the garden digging up iris, geraniums, calla lilies, and some really pretty blue daisy like flowers that are really pretty. Then we drive back home on Sunday with Brian in tow. He flew home on Monday. Whew!

Laptop

Well, yesterday I bought myself a laptop. It seems good, maybe a bit slow though. It's a gateway, widescreen, and has Windows Vista on it.

Can She Do It????

I have no clue what I am doing except trying to become part of this family Blog. What's a Blog anyway??? I just finished washing thousands of dishes. I had fourteen parent helpers for lunch. It was fun but I'm glad it is over. Now, let's see if I can make this work and get it posted. Computer lady I am not.

Yes I'm coming home.

I am coming home sometime. We are still working out the details, but hopefully Laura and Kris will be able to fly out and spend some time with me out here in mid June and then we will take a road trip home. With gas prices the way they are, I may try to sell my jeep and buy something fuel efficient before the trip. (We'll see if that actually happens). Speaking of my jeep, I was rear-ended this week. This girls just ran right into my rusty bumper. Now I am hoping that I will get a new one out of the deal if her insurance company is cooperative. Now it looks terrible rusty and smashed. I have a lot to do if it is going to be fit to sell.

On another note today is my mother's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!

Is Karen coming home?

Quando arriverai a casa della sua famiglia? (When are you coming home?) Presto? (Soon?)

Finally Done!

Hurray!!! I am finally done with my technology class. I have hardly ever experienced so much stress over a class before, but now I know how to use photoshop, dreamweaver, Flash, Movie Maker and more. I have a portfolio of all the stuff I did this semester that I will have to share. It didn't help at all that my computer suddenly stopped working right a couple of weeks ago. I still have to take it to the Mstore to see if anything can be done. I can't even turn it on. Also the miracle of wireless internet that appeared in my apartment this winter also suddenly dissapeared before finals. I've been between 3 counties using Niu and friends' computers to get through all the stuff I had to do. Now I am at the library and it is closing so I will say good bye for now.

David's Girlfriend???

Hey, Thompsons...any word on this? I keep seeing a "strange" car over at David's and a dark haired girl who accompanies it! Details! Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Message from Zia Donna

OK, I have NO idea what I'm doing...except that I can say that in Italian! Monday I received my diploma for passing the intermediate level of Italian. I took the 3 1/2 hour grueling test my last day of class in Florence in March. It was HARD!!! Much harder than any final I took at Sierra OR Chico!

And yes, Monday was Ryan's compleanno (birthday).

We're .... well, not exactly us, but the last of the mamma ewe's should have her lamb(s) today or tomorrow...she's the last one. 14 lambs so far ... first ones were born Christmas Eve day last year if you remember...what a long drawn out lambing year it's been this year! I'll try to post pictures once the lamb(s) are born.

Finals

While Karen learns about blogs, I'm undergoing finals. Ew... In any case, I'll be done by Thursday, and, so long as I make myself study, I'll be fine. Then in August it's off to big kids' college for me. (That's Sonoma State University for anyone who hasn't heard yet.)

On a side note, isn't it Ryan's birthday? He's almost as old as me! Hee hee.

Hi family. I am doing a project for school about blogs, and so I thought I would try to create one for our family. If you create an account at Blogger you should be able to post pictures and write updates and we can all stay in touch better.
